Scientific Method

The scientific method is a standard procdure that scientists go through when they are conducting an experiment. It all starts with a question, and continues to a hypothesis, tesing it, then anazlying/reporting on the data collected. Sometimes if the hypothesis was found wrong the procedure has to start again at constructing another hopefully, correct hypothesis.
Background Knowledge
-
Stating what you already know about the experiment
-
Using your sense to explain things
-
Questiong why things happen, or how they happe,
Hypothesis
-
Developing a problem or question
-
Creating and If and Then statement
-
Ex. If i drop the golfball at a higher height, then the impact it makes on the substance it hits will be greater
Prediction
· Educated guess about the situation
-
Guessing what you think the outcome will be, after experimenting.
Test
· Experiments
· Collect data
· Follow steps in a procedure
Analysis
· Graph (results)
· Compare (results)
· Review data
Conclusion
· Discuss the experiment
· Use facts and numbers from the data
· Talk about why the graph looks that way
· Tell if the experiment proves of disproves anything
· How would you make the experiment better?

While using the scientific method, it helps many scientists out because it is a more organized way to experiment. It breaks the experiment down into steps and this helps to get more done, more quickly. It makes it so easy that even little kids will be able to follow through this procedure, so easy a caveman could do it.....
